Description:

This picture of Chester was drawn by the young Lady Sarah Wick while on a picnic with the Baron of Hardale, his son Simon Locke, and the Lady Veronica. Sarah was eight at the time, Chester 6.

Bio:

Chester is a five year old Uster Wolfhound that has been a near constant companion to the Baron. This was true even during the time following his wife’s horrific mauling by some of Chester’s decendents. The dog is exceptionally well trained and will follow a wide range of commands that can only be given in old Galic. Chester will adhear to the following commands only given by Simon, his current charge:

  • Attack: (Ionsai) Must be a precieved target; will attempt to take down tarket at extremities and throat
  • Chase: (Seilog) Must be a precieved target; will not engage, but will detain
  • Defend: (Cosain) Will attack all precieved threats to person or item told to defend; static position unless defended person or item is on the move
  • Down: (an Duin)Will lay down at point of command; will not move until released
  • Find: (AimSigh) Must be a familiar item or person, or a clear scent; will not engage target
  • Guard: (garda) Will prevent access to point of command; will roam a radius of 25 feet; will alert but not attack
  • Heel: (sUil) Will return and take up a position behind the speaker
  • Hunt: (fiach) Must be a familiar item or person, or a clear scent; will engage target
  • Protect: (chosaint) Will prevent access to person or location without attacking; static position, will bark and snarl
  • Quiet: (ciuin) Will stop making noise
  • Retrieve: (aisghabháil) Will bring back target while attempting minimal damage; must be recognized target
  • Roam: (roam) Will roam at will, but stay in hearing range of master
  • Sit: (sui) Will sit at point of command; will not move until released
  • Speak: (labhairt) Will bark once; If commanded 3 times in quick succession, will bark until “quiet” command
  • Stay: (fanacht) Will not move from point of command until told otherwise.
